The Role of the Governing Body
The role of the Governing Body
The governing body takes on a strategic role, acts as a critical friend to the school and is accountable for its decisions. It sets aims and objectives and reviews, agrees and monitors policies, targets and priorities. It has a strategic role in the financial management of our school and its key responsibilities include the approval and monitoring of the annual budget
and making major decisions about the direction of the school, capital expenditure and senior staff appointments.
The governing body will also monitor the school’s curriculum planning and delivery, assessment and improvement and school engagement.
