NURSERY ADMISSIONS

If you wish your child to attend our Nursery, please contact the school office on 0115 932 4526. Our nursery has a limit of 24 morning places and 24 afternoon places. These places are offered in the February of each school year using the criteria of school catchment area and then date of birth. Places may be available at other times of year due to relocation of current pupils.  We offer 15 or 30 hours.

SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

If you wish your child to attend our School, you will need to apply to the Local Authority by the deadline date given. Find out how to apply here.   Derbyshire County Council manages the admissions procedures for our school. Parents will be notified of a place by a given date. Embark Multi-Academy Trust are required to set and publish their own admissions criteria.  Please click the links below to view the Trust's School Admission Arrangements.

TRANSITION ARRANGEMENTS

Children who attend our Nursery are given opportunities to participate in whole school events before moving into the Reception class. In the term before they are due to start full time education all children are invited to visit to meet their teacher and to become familiar with the new environment. Parents are invited to an induction meeting with the Headteacher and a 'Ready for Reception' workshop with the Early Years staff where routines, expectations and curriculum information are shared. These are ideal opportunities to have all your questions answered.

MOVING / TRANSFERRING SCHOOLS

It is important that parents keep the Headteacher informed when they are considering changing schools, as we have a duty to send your child's records on to and share information with the new school.  We also have a duty to inform the Local Authority of any child that we believe has left our school and has not provided any information on their destination and education provision and to share information with receiving schools. If we are unable to establish your child's new school, we would have to refer them as a missing child to the Children Missing from Education Officer. As a result, your child's name may be kept on a missing register and efforts will be made to trace them. Please click the link below to read more about this.

ELECTIVE HOME EDUCATION

Please click to view the departmental guidance documents given below from the Local Authority and Department for Education.  These have been produced for parents educating children at home or considering doing so to help them understand their obligations and rights in relation to elective home education.

If you have any questions about elective home education, please email: cs.ehe@derbyshire.gov.uk or Telephone: 01629 532843.
