Remembrance Day
In the run up to Remembrance Day on 11/11/22, the children were reminded about why we wear poppies and key events of the major World Wars. They shared stories of their own family members who are in the armed forces and daily assemblies focused on this special time of the year.
Mrs Gillott sold poppies and other British Legion merchandise at the school gates during the week and money raised was forwarded to continue the great work of this charity.
At 11 O'clock on 11 November, we all stood silent in the playground and heard a poppy wreath poem, joining in with remembrance time across the nations.
